Agrostis pallens – Bentgrass
Flower / Leaf
Sandy, Clay, Loam, Rocky, Unparticular
Agrostis pallens, a cool-season bent grass, is known as West Coast Native Bentgrass. It can be mowed or let to flop to give the appearance of a natural, unstructured meadow. When let to grow naturally, it can use half the water of typical turf and require half the mowing and upkeep. It will also be a medium green hue. It takes on a more typical manicured look with a darker green color when consistently fertilized and mowed.
