Cover Crop – Buckwheat
- Sow buckwheat after all threat of frost is gone.
- Drill 50 to 60 lb./Acre at 1/2 to 11/2 inches deep in 6 to 8-inch rows in tilled, lightly tilled, or clean-tilled soils.
- To quicken the development of the canopy, use heavier rates.
- 96 lb./Acre onto a firm seedbed for a quick smothering crop
- Mix into the earth using a harrow, tine weeder, disk, or field cultivator.
